Hijinks Ensue

Random AIR-related babblings

I ate less and walked more than I usually do while I was touring Ireland. As a result I've had to tighten my belt another notch and I'm lighter than I have been for many years.

Fenchurch's rear leaf springs were getting tired before the trip, but after loading far too much stuff into her and driving spiritedly over many miles of very bumpy Irish roads, they are pretty much knackered. Luckily I have a new set to fit once I have the opportunity (I need to get Lintilla back on the road first).

Lintilla needs a heart transplant. A large chunk of the (metal) head gasket blew out between two cylinders at high revs (we were racing along the A55 to catch the ferry at the time), and the debris has rather chewed up a couple of the bores and pistons. A rebore and oversize pistons is one option, but I'm instead bidding on a rebored block in Dorset that belongs to one of the MMOC forum members.

My body clock has become slightly messed up. It's now 21:45 but it feels more like midnight.

I have hours of video to go through (most of it panning scenery shots) but I didn't take very many still photos because that was the_magician's area of responsibility. Here are three of the best stills I took: Collapse )

There's no way I'm going to catch up with everything that happened on LiveJournal while I was away last week, so please let me know if I missed anything important.
