AIR 2008 video: Conor Pass

At the start of the third day of the Around Ireland Rally, we crossed over the mountain range in the middle of the Dingle Peninsula via the R560, also known as Conor Pass. It's very scenic, and some of it is a single track road with passing-places. This video was recorded at a viewpoint right after the most interesting part of the road. The car in front of us didn't understand how to use passing places and just kept on driving forwards really slowly, forcing the cars coming the other way to drive off the road and under a waterfall!

The couple travelling in the other car on the AIR had already done the pass the previous day on their way to Dingle, and they said they didn't want to do it again so went by a different (less scenic) way and met up with us on the other side. Personally I would have jumped at the chance to turn around and do it again in the opposite direction! :)
