I've decided not to buy a ticket for the O2 Arena gig Madness is doing at the end of the year, as I don't particularly want the hassle and expense of going to London for it. I just hope it won't be their only UK gig this year - the language announcing it seems deliberately ambiguous: "The only planned gig in December." The past couple of years they have done a UK tour in December.

First time I saw Madness was at a gig in 1978, when the bill also included Rockpile, Squeeze, UB40, Elvis Costello and the Selector, with John Cooper Clarke as emcee. Quite a night.
Perhaps they have other dates that haven't been announced yet? That announcement makes it sound like they've either got more dates earlier in the year, or that there might be more to be added.
Hope so. I'll probably be kicking myself at the end of the year if they don't have any more gigs in easier to get to locations. I have entered the free raffle for a pair of O2 tickets though and if I win those I'll definitely find some way to get to it!
Fingers crossed for the raffle :-)
I entered a competion for tickets to Hard Rock Calling in June (ft Police and KT Tunstall) :-)
